Welcome to another SBS staff spotlight. We recently interviewed the newest addition to the SBS Accounting & Advisors‘ family, Charmaine Barnhill. Get to know Charmaine in this profile of her role at SBS.

Jonathan Bill: How long have you been at SBS?  

Charmaine Barnhill: Four months.

JB: What do you do for SBS?

CB: Account manager.

JB: What is the most satisfying part of your job, and what are you most looking forward to?

CB: The most satisfying part of my role here at SBS is being able to help our clients maximize their potential in their businesses. I look forward to each and every day, being able to provide our clients with excellent service.

JB: What do you think is the most productive app to use with QuickBooks Online (QBO)?    

CB: There are many QBO apps that I like and work with on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. However, I believe one of the most productive apps is the Gusto payroll application.

JB: What is it like working remotely, and what tools do you use to do so?

CB: Working remotely is a blessing. I have a total office setup, as if I was going into a brick and mortar. I have a notebook that I keep handy – right beside my computer – to write my daily notes in. I have a three-monitor setup, and I use all three all the time. I love working remotely, and I am truly blessed to be a part of the SBS Family.

JB: Can you describe a complicated client issue and how you solved it?  

CB: One of my clients had six intercompany accounts that had a lot of moving parts, and because I have experience in reconciling intercompany accounts, I was able to correct their intercompany accounts in less time than we budgeted for.

JB: What is your favorite thing to do outside of work? 

CB: I enjoy family time with my husband, Marc Sr., and my two children, Marc Jr. and Camille. I love traveling, movie night, game night, date night, spending time with my family and friends, and worshipping and fellowshipping with my church family.
